About Course
The Great Center course explores ancient Confucian teachings such as Illuminating Virtue and Sincere Intention, Cultivation and Heart Goodness. Through analysis of the Great Learning, Da Xue 大學, a Confucian classic explaining the path for self-cultivation and self-betterment, the student will learn the theory behind self-cultivation practices. Dr Yaron Seidman brings a full translation of Great Learning Simple Explanation 大學恆解- a commentary and insight by Liu Yuan to enhance the learning with practical applications. Course Part I covers the text’s first 2 chapters: Dao of the Great Learning and Sincere Intention. Full text is provided with the course.
About this Course
Goals: 1. To learn and understand the basic tenets of the Great Learning and ancient Confucianism heart cultivation practice. 2. To become acquainted with Liu Yuan and the Huai Xuan cultivation method.
